Adam Kirsch is a musician and multi-media artist working in experimental video and sound. His works delve into the complexities of perception, memory, tribalism, and the impact of modern distractions on our experience of natural beauty. Adam’s recent projects, Active Corruption and filtersArtifacts, challenge the notion of unobstructed beauty and explore the imperfections of memory through a blend of American Primitive folk music, improvised clarinet pieces, field recordings, electronics, and visually disrupted landscapes.
Focusing on the tension between the awe-inspiring and the mundane, these works invite audiences to confront the cognitive processes that shape their understanding of the world. Collaborative musical performances have been showcased at venues such as the Cedar Cultural Center, First Avenue & 7th Street Entry, and the Varsity Theatre, while his video installations have been featured at the Grand Marais Art Colony. His musical projects have received recognition from publications like The Current, The Guardian, and Muse Mag.
Beyond his solo projects, Adam has contributed to various collaborative musical endeavors, including DIIE, Fire In The Northern Firs, Watershed Group, and Goodday, Montag. where his roles have spanned from musician and producer to designer and programmer. His discography reflects a deep engagement with both the sonic and visual aspects of artistic expression, consistently pushing the boundaries of how we experience and interpret art and environmental beauty.
