A cold and snowy winter in the Northwoods, spent exploring frozen waterfalls and a seemingly endless, mostly uninhabited forestland. Forest Music was composed on -40°F nights beside a wood-burning stove, reflecting on days spent snowshoeing and listening for field-recording opportunities in a largely silent world. Forest Music is change, wonder, and discovery. Responding to the delicate sounds of a new landscape with only a synthesizer and clarinet, these pieces are as unrestrained as they are contemplative, learning and unlearning in unison.
